Preferences area.
This preferences area has two purposes.
Firstly, it enables you to hide some of the races that appear in the table,
e.g., long races and/or races that are too far away.
It can also be used to show
both the distance and the route by road to each race.
There are three ways in which you can control the preferences.
Way 1 allows you to use the length of the race
to control which races appear.
Ways 2 and 3 are rivals;
they both control by the location of the race.
Of the two ways, you will probably find 3 more useful.
Way 3 also enables you to arrange for the table to include
both the distance and the route by road to each race.
If you choose Way 3, ensure that all the checkboxes
of the postcode areas in Way 2 are ticked.
If you use these ways to control what appears in the table,
cookies will be used to store your preferences.
There is more about this later.
1. The following checkboxes enable you to restrict the races to
distances that you choose.
2. The following checkboxes enable you to restrict the
races to those that take place in specific postcode areas.
If you click on a label such as Bradford,
you will be able to see more details about the races in this postcode area.
The table of races will be restricted to races
that are in ticked postcode areas.
So untick any checkbox whose races you wish to hide.
3. Below there are two drop-down menus.
If you wish, choose a home, say Durham,
and choose a distance, e.g., 80 miles.
If you do this, a new button labelled show races up to 80M from Durham
will appear.
If you click this button,
the table of races will be restricted to races
that are up to 80M by road from Durham.
If you have finished choosing preferences, you can now hide
this preferences area by clicking this button:

The 2025 event was full by about Oct 29th 2024. "The event uses a unique innovative concept: 11 Stages of running to be completed individually or as a pair. It's a superb scenic running journey around some of the best trails in Sheffield, linking up the great city's parkland and green spaces. The timed stages make up 20K of the 24.5K route. The unique format breaks the route down into bite-sized stages. Each stage has its own character. Each stage is raced, and competitors receive results for each stage as well as the combined overall result. Between stages competitors have the opportunity to relax a little, regroup with their team and friends and refocus before the next timed stage begins. Competitors are allowed to walk or jog in between timed stages. This creates a special and unique social vibe at the race. As well as plenty to discuss in the Beer tent post race! Participants are set off at regular intervals every few seconds, so there will always be someone to chase." "The creative concept means that a route such as this can be accessed and completed safely by runners of all abilities. Entry as Individuals or Pairs. Pairs must complete all stages of the course together."
